06/14/2010 Charter Review Commission MinutesCITY OF FAIRLAWN CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION MINUTES DATE: 6/14/10 NAME OF COMMISSION: CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION CALLED TO ORDER AT: 5:14 PM BY: Edward J. Riegler _ COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT: Mark Auburn, Steve Matesevac, and Cynthia Visca OTHERS: Edward J. Riegler, Law Director _ EXCUSED: Kurt Ottiger and Mark Ludwig _ APPROVAL OF MAY 24, 2010 MEETING MINUTES Minutes approved as amended. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: E. Riegler introduced proposed charter amendments pertaining to Chapter 10- --Planning Commission amending Sections 10.01 and 10.02 and Chapter 11---Board of Zoning and Building Appeals amending Sections 11.01 and 11.04. E. Riegler explained the impact of the proposed amendments and basically how they would be incorporated into the overall organizational formats of the two bodies. Discussion was held regarding the necessity of multiple meetings for one or more items and how an alternate member would be utilized. M:. Auburn indicated that each body has their own Rules and Regulations and would have to amend their respective rules to account for such circumstances. All members present were in support of the proposed changes. Thereupon, M. Auburn moved to recommend the suggested changes to Charter Sections 10.01, 10.02, 11.01 and 11.04 to City Council with the stipulation that the matter may be reopened for discussion by the members not currently present at the next Commission meeting. S. Matesevac seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. OTHER BUSINESS: M. Auburn noted that today's meeting was duly advertised not only within the city offices and its various departments but also publically to the electorate through notice published in the West Side Leader. There being no further business to come before the Commission this evening, M. Auburn moved to adjourn. S. Matesevac seconded. Motion unanimously passed. Meeting adjourned at 5:35pm.
