ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR EMPLOYEES IN
THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRLAWN:
Section 1: Base rates of ceompensation in the Department of Public Service
shall be paid in accordance with the following schedule:
Years of employment
In Position
Service Equipment Laborer/
Department Operator Apprentice
Forman Laborer
In the first year
$4.00 $3.47 $2.98
In the second year
4.28 3.63 3.08
In the third year
4.56 3.80 3.19
In the fourth and.
succeeding years
4.84 3.97 3130
Section 2: For each successive.five (5) years of continued service, each
, employee shall be paid an additional five ($5.00) dollars per month.
Section 3: Hourly rated employees shall be paid their base compensation in
convenient payments as may be determined by the Finance Director,
but not less frequently than every two weeks nor later than one
week following the completion of each two week period of service.
The additional compensation provided in Section 2 hereof shall
be paid annually in a single payment in the first week of December.
Section 4: Ail employees in the positions named in Section 1 hereof shall be
eligible for all existing employee benefits now in effect for
employees in the Department.
Section 5: Any employee who is In the employ of the City in the Department of
Public Service on the]Date of enactment of this ordinance and who
is upon the effective date of this ordinance employed in a position
named in Section 1 hereof, shall for purposes of determining years
of service pursuant to Sections 1 and 2 be deemed to have been
employeed in such position from the date of his original employment
in the Department.
Section 6: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
January 1, 1975.
