1974-020 OrdinanceORDINANCE 1974 - 20 OFFERED BY: Councilman Bartelstone AMENDING ORDINANCE 1973-14 PROVIDING SPECIAL PARKING AREAS FOR HANDICAPPED PERSONS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRLAWN: Section 1: Section 2: Section 2 of Ordinance 1973-14 is hereby amended to read as follows: "No vehicle shall be parked in a "parking for handicapped" area unless such vehicle is identified and registered pursuant to the provisions of Section 4503.101 of the Ohio Revised Code, or is specially equipped for operation by disabled persons and is identifiable as such by the presence of special markings or visible attached special equipment, and is operated by a handicapped person." This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary to the public safety, for the reason that handicapped persons are especially subject to traffic hazards and are to be at all times protected from the same, and therefore, it shall be in full force and effect from and after its enactment.
