APPROPRIATING MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE
TAX FUNDS FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTAL
ATION AND MODIFICATION.
WHEREAS the Safety Director has undertaken to install a traffic
control signal at the intersection of West Market Street and Smith
Road; and to modify the traffic control signal at West Market Street
and the main entrance to Fairlawn Plaza; and the Council has deemed
such improvements necessary and desirable, and an application has
been made to the Summit County Commissioners for funds from Motor
Vehicle License Taxes to pay the cost of such improvements and the
Commissioners have approved the said application in manner and form
as follows:

WHEREAS, the Summit County Motor Vehicle License Tax Map as prepared by .
the Coun~¥--ngineer, ~' in accordance with Section 450e.' 03 of the Ohio Revised Code was
approved by this Board by'I{csolution dated October 8, 1968; and
WHEREAS, uae Summit County Motor Vehicle License Tax was enacted by this
Board by Resolution #635-68 dated Junb 27, 1968, leYying an annual tax of Five Dollars
per Motor Vehicle in'addition to thc tax !egied by Section 4505.0Z, 07 and . 18 of the
Ohio Revised Code; and

WHEREAS, t,he tax applies to Motor Vehicle Registration for the registration year
beginning April 16, 1969 and subsequent years; and ' . '
~4rPtEllEAS, funds have been received from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and
additional funds will become available for use by the several Cities and Villages in the
County; and '
WHEREAS, an application has been received from City of Fairlawn
in the tentative amount of. $6100.00. for tho improvement of __Traffic Signalization

proposed improvement having been reviewed and approved by the. County Engineer; now

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that application for funds from the Motor Vehicle
License Tax by_ City of Fairlawn has been received in the
amount of $6100. 00 · for the improvement ~)f Traffic Signalization
'and said application.is hereby approved and authority g"anted to proceed with said

improvement. .

An amount equal to the estirhated cost as submitted, not to exceed $6100.00 ,
shall be allocated by the Board of' County Commissioners for this improvement, and
certify the same to the County Auditor to encumber funds necessary for the same.
Upon notification by City of Fair!awn that work on the

approved.project has commenced, thc County Auditor shui1 draw a warrant for such
amount on the County Treasurer payable to the tkuditor or Clerk of the Municipal Corpo-

Any money not used for the purpose for which they are encumbered and not used in
such prgject shall be returned to thc County Auditor for re-deposit in the original fund
un_d_er Section 45 04.05, paragraph B-1.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRLAWN:
That the aforesaid funds be and they hereby are appropriated to
the installation and modification of traffic signals as aforesaid.
