1976-079 ResolutionRESOLUTION 1976 - 79 Offered by Mayor ttar%laub RESOLUTION OF AGREEMENT TO REDUCE THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT ON RIDGES~OOD ROAD (C.tI.8~) TO ~5 MILES PER HOUR. WHEREAS, the Summit County Engineer requested the Ohio Department of Transportation ~o make a traffic study of Rid~ewood Road (C.H.8~) pursuant to Section ~511.21, Ohio Revised Code, and %~HEREAS, the Ohio Department of Transportation has determined that the prima facie speed limit on said road should be reduced to q5 miles per hour, and WIIEREAS, said department has notified the Summit County Engineer that the necessary Journal Entries will be prepared upon notification that the City of Fairla~fn is in agreement with the reduced speed limit for that portion of Ridgewood Road (C.H.8~) situated within the corporate limits of Fairlawn' NOW THEREFORE, BE 'T RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THD CITY OF FAIRLA%'N, OHI0; Section l: That this Council is in agreement with the proposal of the Department of Transportation of the State of Ohio and the Summit County Engineer to reduce the prima facie speed limit on Ridgewood Road (C.tt.8~) including that portion of said road situated within the corporate limits of the C.~ty of Fairlawn, being on the north side of said roadway from Miller Road to Cleveland-Massillon Road. Section 2' That, pursuant to Section ~511.21, Ohio Revised Code, the Director of Transportation declare ~5 miles per hour to be a reasonable and safe prima facie speed limit on Ridgewood Road (C.H.8~) including that portion of said road situated in the City of Fairlawn. Section 3' That the new speed limit shall become effective upon notifi- cation of filing the pertinent journal entries by the Director and the installation of new signs as required. Section ~- That it is hereby found and determined that this legislation complies with Section 121.22, O.R.C. regarding notification of meetings and all deliberations of this fbuncil pertaining hereto have been con- ducted in accordance therewith.
