AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO OBTAIN BIDS FOR A SOUND SYSTEM
FOR COULCIL CHAMBERS, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT, AND
APPROPRIATING ~ , 900. O0 THEREFOR
WHEREAS, it has become apparent that it is ~ifficult to hear comments
and debate Within Council Chambers, particularly when there are large
numbers of spectators, and
WHEREAS, this Council has determined that the problem may be remedied
by the installation of an electronically amplified sound system, and
WHEREAS, an electronic recording device may be incorporated in such
system.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRLAWN,
OHIO'
Section 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed
to develop specifications for an electronically amplified sound system
for Council chambers to include at least four microphones for the
council dias, two (2) portable microphones to be used by spectators,
necessary speaker's, amplifier, and integrated recording equipment.
Section 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed
to advertise for bids pursuant to law, to set a date and time for open-
ing bids and reserving the right to reject all bids.
Section 3: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed
to enter into a contract for the purchase and installation of an approp-
riate electronically amplified sound system not to exceed the cost of
Three Thousand Nine Hundred and no/lO0 Dollars ($3,900.OO).
Section 4- That there is hereby appropriated from the Capital Improve-
ments Fund the sum of Three Thousand Nine Hundred and no/lO0 Dollars
($3,900.00) for the purchase and installation of the sound system.
Section 5: That the Finance Director be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to issue the usual warrants or vouchers in payment of
said contract from funds appropriated herein from the Capital Improve-
ments Fund of the City of Fairlawn.
Section 6- That it is hereby found and determined that this legislation
complies with Section 191.22, O.R.C. regarding notification of meetings
and all deliberations of this Council pertaining hereto have been con-
ducted in accordance therewith.
Section 7' This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after ten days after its first publication by posting.
