1976-030 OrdinanceORDINANCE 1976 - 30 OFFERED BY: Mr. Lowry AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING THE PAY SCHEDULE FOR THE CHIEF OF POLICE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRLAWN, OHIO: Section 1: The compensation of the Chief of Police of the City of Fairlawn for services rendered to said city, from February 16, 1976, through December 31, 1976, shall be at the annual rate of $17,160.48, to be paid in semi-monthly installments of $715.02. Section 2: The compensation of the Chief of Police of the City of Feirlawn from and after January 1, 1977, shall be at the annual rate of $18,018.48, to be paid in semi-monthly installments of $750.77. Section 3: That it is hereby found and determined that this legislation complies with Section 121.22, O.R.C. regarding notification of meetings and all deliberations of this Council pertaining hereto have been conducted in accordance therewith. Section 4: This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary to the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Fairlawn, Ohio, for the reason that a fair and just compensation be immediately provided to maintain a well functioning police department and it shall therefore be in full force and effect from and after its enactment and approval by the Mayor, or at the earliest period allowed by law.
