CLASSIFYING JOB CLASSIFICATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF
FAIRLAWN.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRLAWN, OHIO'
Section 1' Pursuant to Section 13.02 of the Charter of the City of Fairlawn, the
following job classifications are declared to be in the classified
service, i.e. subject to the rules and regulations of the Civil Service
Commission'
1. Full-time members of the Divisions of Police, excluding the Chief
of Police.
2. Full-time employees of the Service Department.
3. Clerk/Typist/Bookkeeper/Office Manager
4. Clerk/Bookkeeping Machine Operator.
Section 2' No elected official., or department heads appointed by the Mayor, such
as the Street Commissioner, Zoning Inspector, Building Commissioner,
Assistant Finance Director, Tax Administrator, Park and Recreation
· ' Director, Law Director, City Engineer, Secretary to the Mayor, and
appointed Board or Commission members shall be in the classified
service.
Section 3: Council shall designate whether or not every new job classification
created hereafter is within the classified Service in the ordinance
creating the position.
Section 4' Section 4 of Ordinance 1978-105 is hereby repealed.
Section 5' That it is hereby found and determined that this legislation complies
with Section 121.22, O.R.C. regarding notification of meetings and all
deliberations of this Council pertaining hereto have been conducted
in accordance therewith.
Section 6: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after ten
days after its enactment and approval by the Mayor.
