1978-024 ResolutionRESOLUTI ON 1978 Councilman Buza REQUESTING A.M.A.T.S. TO CONDUCT A SURVEY IN COOPERATION WITH METRO REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY AND THE CITY OF FAIRLAWN TO DETERMINE NEED FOR INTER-CITY BUS TRANSPORTATION. WHEREAS, it has been represented to %he City that A.M.A.T.S. can conduct a survey of need ag no cost to the City, and .. WHERE^S, a phone survey is acknowledged to provide more and higher quality input than a general ma~l survey, and ~HEI:IEAS~ if it is determined that there 'is a need for inter-city bus transporta%ion~ Metro Regional Transit ^uthority (MRT~) has given preliminary indications that such service may be provided~ and WHEREAS~ eertain federal assistance may be available ~o offset costs of operating such transportation upon presentation of appropriate survey data ~ and WHEREAS 1978, such su, rvey may be completed and contracts negotiated by summer NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRLAWN, OHIO' Section 1. This Council does hereby request A.M.A.T.S. to conduct a tele'phone survey within the City of Fairlawn to determine the need for inter-city bus transportation. Section 2' That the Mayor maintain contact with Metro Regional Transit Authority for the purpose of expediting the bus service in the event the need is determined. Section 3. That it is hereby found and determined that this legislation complies with Section 121.22, O.R.C. regarding notification of meetings and all deliberations of this Council pertaining hereto }]ave been con- ducted in accordance therewith.
